BioInfoSummer 2010: AMSI Summer Symposium in Bioinformatics

29th November - 3rd December 2010, WEHI, Melbourne, Australia.

The aim of the BioInfoSummer workshop is to provide an introduction to the broad research area of Bioinformatics for students and early career researchers from mathematical and biological sciences.

The workshop features:

Introductory lectures on biology and bioinformatics
Keynote speakers highlighting current research
Hands-on practicals using bioinformatics software
Sessions of contributed talks and posters

Each day has a different theme:

Monday 29th November, Introduction to Biology and Genomics
Tuesday 30th November, Methods in Bioinformatics
Wednesday 1st December, Genetic variation and disease
Thursday 2nd December, Transcriptomics
Friday 3rd December, Phylogenetics

A limited number of travel scholarships are available for students.
