The SigmaOpt/AMSI Optimisation AGR Seminar Series has been very successful, offering a full program covering a variety of aspects of Optimisation. AMSI supports this popular program, which is run by the new ANZIAM Special Interest Group in Mathematical Optimisation, operating from the University of Newcastle, RMIT University and University of South Australia.

Prof. Terry Rockafellar

Earlier in the year AMSI sponsored an outstanding series of three lectures by Prof. Terry Rockafellar (University of Washington) on the Mathematics of Risk. Hosted by CARMA at the University of Newcastle the event was attended via the AG (Access Grid).

From late 2010 AMSI will run a monthly seminar series from the AMSI offices via the AG network.
