The 2012 AMSI/ANU/UQ Graduate Winter School on Geometric Partial Differential Equations will be held at the University of Queensland at Brisbane, Australia from 2 - 13 July 2012. The winter school is designed for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The main topics will focus on recent progress in non-linear partial differential equations and their applications. In particular, the program will emphasize three interlocking themes:
Advanced courses will be given by leading international mathematicians Gerhard Huisken (Max Planck), Robert McCann (Toronto), Tristan Rivière (ETH-Zurich), Richard Schoen (Stanford), Michael Struwe (ETH-Zurich), Gang Tian (Princeton/ Beijing), Neil Trudinger (ANU) and Xu-Jia Wang (ANU). The instructional Courses will be given by Ben Andrews (ANU), John Urbas (ANU) and Min-Chun Hong (UQ). The School is supported by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, the Australian National University, the Beijing International Center for Mathematics Research, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences, Canada and the University of Queensland. |
